Music album "el Derwid" (CD Accord, ACD 192) recorded by artists from the Wrocław Music Academy - Agata Zubel and Cezary Duchnowski - with Andrzej Bauer, is the latest artistic project with new arrangements of eleven songs by Witold Lutosławski. The album has been nominated to the Fryderyk Awards of the Polish Phonographic Academy. The winners will be announced in April 2014.
Bach Academy is the festival devoted to baroque music which was organized on 3-9 of February 2014 by The Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław and the Wrocław Philharmonic. The Festival included concerts, lectures and master classes which were held by artists of Collegium Vocale Gent for one hundred students - instrumentalists and vocalists. A very special guest of the Music Academy was one of the most outstanding European conductors - Philippe Herreweghe - who attended the open interview with audience and the Polish Radio representatives.
The Karol Lipinski Academy of Music in Wrocław invites Polish and foreign students to study Programmes in English, which are offered in the fields of Instrumental Performance and Vocal Performance. Education in English is offered as part of the English Division in core subjects and general courses.
In 2013 the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław celebrated its 65th anniversary of establishment, under the Honorary Patronage of the President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski. On this very special occasion the Academy presented various artistic performances and scientific events. The Great Anniversary Concert took place in October and was combined with the offical opening of a new didactic and concert complex with a modern concert hall, in presence of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bogdan Zdrojewski and the President of Wrocław Rafał Dutkiewicz. Also in October the Academy's society awarded the Honorary Doctorate to a famous Polish conductor Maestro Gabriel Chmura.

In recognition of the Artist’s achievements, to honour his creative contribution and unique services to the development of music art, artistic life and the promotion of Polish music, the Senate of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, at a session on 12 June 2013, awarded to Maestro Gabriel Chmura the degree of Doctor honoris causa. The ceremony of awarding the degree took place during Inauguration of the New Academic Year 2013/2014 on 10 October 2013 at 11 o’clock a.m. in Aula Leopoldina at the University of Wrocław.
"Beat the Melody" is a new music game of the Shorebreak Studio which helps its players recognize pitch and repeat short, simple musical phrases by ear. Music structure of the game has been created by Michał Moc - composer, instrumentalist and teacher at the Academy of Music in Wrocław - who designed the game to develope music skills and knowledge of various music compositions. The product is the result of collaboration between Shorebreak Studio and the Music Academy in Wrocław in frame of the MOZART art-business programme.
The K. Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław organized on 19-20 November 2013 the 13th International Scientific Conference "Traditions of the Silesian Musical Culture’, in which participated historians, music theoreticians and ethnomusicologists whose scientific activity refers to the Silesian region.
Wrocław is an important center of culture and art and it was chosen the European Capital of Culture 2016. The 5th Summer Music Academy organized by the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław was held on 3-9 July 2013. The course was dedicated to all instrumentalists, composers, choir conductors and vocalists who want to improve their technical skills or become students of our Academy. We are proud to announce that Agata Zubel - composer, singer and lecturer at the Wrocław Music Academy, has been awarded at the 60th International Rostrum of Composers in Prague. Zubel's composition "Not I" has been chosen and awarded from over 50 pieces sent by thirty broadcasting stations. The composition is based on Samuel Beckett’s dramatic monologue.
